What is NMAT?

NMAT by GMAC is a computer-adaptive-style test used primarily for admission to NMIMS Mumbai and its affiliated campuses, and is also accepted by a small set of other B-schools. A distinctive feature is that candidates can attempt NMAT multiple times within a testing window and choose their best score.

Exam Pattern

NMAT is a computer-based test with three sections — Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning — each with its own fixed section time limit that cannot be reallocated. Candidates can typically retake the exam (up to a defined number of attempts) within the same testing window; check the official NMAT by GMAC site for current attempt rules.

Preparation Strategy

NMAT's fixed per-section timing rewards speed under pressure more than most MBA exams — practice each section strictly timed, individually, before combining into full mocks. Since multiple attempts are usually allowed, treat your first attempt partly as a diagnostic and use the data to sharpen weak areas before a retake.
