ReadyUp ("ReadyUp", "we", "us", or "our") operates the ReadyUp website and the ReadyUp mobile app (together, the "Service"), a placement preparation platform that includes practice questions, timed mock tests, a daily challenge, and personalized performance analytics ("ReadyUp Intelligence"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information you provide when you sign up or edit your profile:

  • Name and email address
  • Password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form — we never store or can view your plain-text password)
  • Optional profile details: graduation year, degree, branch, and up to five target companies
  • Optional profile photo

Usage and performance data generated as you use the Service:

  • Practice sessions, timed test attempts, and daily challenge attempts — including which questions you answered, whether your answers were correct, and how long you took
  • Derived performance metrics such as accuracy, solving speed, topic/skill mastery, streaks, and your ReadyUp Readiness Score
  • App usage events (e.g. which screens or features you use) for analytics and to improve the Service

Device and technical information, such as IP address and basic device/browser information, collected automatically for security and to keep the Service running reliably.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account, and to authenticate you (including sending one-time passcodes for login and verification)
  • To operate the practice, testing, and daily challenge features
  • To power ReadyUp Intelligence — analyzing your own attempt history (accuracy, speed, and topic performance) to calculate your readiness score, highlight strengths and weak areas, and recommend what to practice next. This analysis is rule-based and runs on your own data; we do not share this analysis with any employer or third party
  • To operate the leaderboard, which shows your name/rank to other users; you may control what is shown to other users via your profile settings, where available
  • To send you transactional emails (such as one-time passcodes and account notifications) — we do not send marketing email unless you opt in
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the Service, and to detect and prevent abuse
  • To improve question quality and the Service generally, using aggregated and, wherever possible, anonymized statistics (e.g. how many users found a question difficult)

3. Company Mock Tests

ReadyUp offers company-branded mock tests (e.g. styled after common IT-services and product company hiring rounds). These use ReadyUp's own practice questions and are not sourced from, affiliated with, or endorsed by the named companies. No data from these mock tests is shared with the named companies.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service, such as our transactional email provider (used solely to deliver OTP and account emails) and our hosting/infrastructure providers
  • Leaderboard — limited information (such as your name and rank) may be visible to other users, as described above
  • Legal reasons — if required to comply with applicable law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ReadyUp or our users
  • Business transfers — if ReadyUp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy

5. Data Retention and Security

We retain your account and performance data for as long as your account is active, so that ReadyUp Intelligence can track your progress over time. We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted password storage and token-based authentication) to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time — see our Data Deletion page for how.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can review and update most of your profile information directly in the app
  • You can request a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us (see below)
  • You can request deletion of your account at any time — see Data Deletion

7. Children's Privacy

ReadyUp is intended for students and job-seekers preparing for placement exams and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email.
